A Facebook notification popped up on my mobile asking me to wish, "Happy Birthday" to one of my social media friend and a real-life acquaintance. I clicked on the notification and typed, "Wish you many many happy returns of the day :) ". And when the date was about to change, that person uploaded a status, "Thanks to all for your wishes"
What does that even mean? Uploading a thank you status for those who took out time to wish you, is it enough?

I agree to the point that yes people wished you just because they received a notification otherwise hardly anyone remember birthdays nowadays. But do you remember anyone's birthday? At least when they received notification, they wished you. What more do you expect?
There you go with another point, that merely takes 10 sec to wish on social media, but then you have hundreds of people added and thanking everyone will consume too much of time. Correct! But you need to do that only for a day, not daily. That too, because it's your birthday, people are wishing you, otherwise, no one even cares a bit about you.
Also acknowledging people even by a text, won't do any harm to anyone, I guess. In fact, it will surely bring a smile on your face as well the other person's face.
So if you can take out some time out of your busy schedule of scrolling Facebook newsfeed and Instagram feed, do thank each and every person individually who are wishing you well being. No matter it's your birthday or a regular good morning, do acknowledge them. If not much, at least it will bring a smile on their face.
Keep smiling and believe in yourself 😊
